Muncie, Ind. – Ohio field hockey made a strong second half comeback but ended up taking a loss in double overtime in today's match against the Ball State Cardinals 3-2
The Bobcats gave up one goal in the first half but matched the score with a goal of their own in the first two minutes of the second half. The Cardinals would respond with another goals before the game was later tied to send it into overtime.
Ohio had one goal by red-shirt freshman midfielder Tayla Hansen (Levin, New Zealand) assisted by freshman midfielder Ashley Wilbur (Louisville, Ky). This would mark Hansen's first goal of the season. The second goal belonged to sophomore midfielder Jillian Shive (Lebanon, Ohio) who tallied her sixth goal of the season, again assisted by Ashley Wilbur.
Senior goalkeeper Alex Pennington (Easton, Pa.) made five saves.
Ohio Field Hockey will stay on the road for their next match up. The Bobcats will meet up with Ohio State on Sunday (Oct. 7) at 1 p.m. EST in Columbus, Ohio.
