ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio football team's 2019 week two matchup at Pittsburgh on Sept. 7 will kick off at 11 a.m. ET from Heinz Field and will be televised on ACC Network.
The Bobcats are set to battle Pitt for the first time since Sept. 9, 2005, when Ohio knocked off the Panthers in overtime, 16-10, at Peden Stadium in Athens. Ohio last visited Heinz Field on Sept. 11, 2004 -- a 24-3 loss to Pitt.
Over the last 14 years under the leadership of head coach Frank Solich, Ohio has recorded 106 wins, captured four Mid-American Conference East Division titles, appeared in 10 bowl games and tallied four bowl victories. The Bobcats recorded their second-straight nine-win season in 2018, capping the year off with a 27-0 shutout of San Diego State in the 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl to record their second-straight bowl win. Ohio is set to return three All-MAC selections from the 2018 squad, including senior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada), redshirt defensive back Javon Hagan (Jacksonville, Fla.) and redshirt senior punter Michael Farkas (Mishawaka, Ind.).
Pitt is coming off of a 2018 season in which it went 7-7 overall, including a 6-2 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play that clinched the league's Coastal Division title. The Panthers made appearances in the ACC Championship Game and the Sun Bowl. Pat Narduzzi enters his fifth season as the head coach at Pitt in 2019.
Game time and television information for Ohio's other 11 regular season games will be announced on later dates.
