ATHENS, Ohio -- The 2018 fall semester marked another strong showing by Ohio student-athletes in the classroom.
Ohio student-athletes combined to post a department term grade point average of 3.026 and a department cumulative GPA of 3.148, marking the 11th-consecutive semester the department has earned a term and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. A total of 115 student-athletes made the Dean's List -- an increase of 11 student-athletes from the fall 2017 semester. In total, 239 student-athletes achieved a term of GPA of 3.0 or higher, 143 earned a term GPA of 3.5 or higher and 27 earned a 4.0 term GPA.
"Congratulations go to our student-athletes, coaches and academic staff for the outstanding results from this past semester," said Ohio Director of Athletics Jim Schaus. "Academic success will always be our top priority at Ohio Athletics."
In November, graduation data released by the NCAA showed that Ohio student-athletes have a four-class average (2008-12) of 88 percent in the Graduation Success Rate (GSR), and, in the 2011-12 cohort, have a Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) or 74 percent. Ohio's GSR of 88 percent is the highest the university's athletics department has ever achieved.
