ATHENS, Ohio – The Wild Honeybees will peform a free pregame concert presented by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health beginning at noon in the Bobcat Nation Pavilion outside of Peden Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 20). The performance will be part of the pregame celebration leading up to the Ohio football team's Homecoming matchup against Mid-American Conference East Division rival Bowling Green. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Based in Athens, The Wild Honeybees are a nine-piece, New Orleans style R&B dance band, dedicated to bringing the power of a live horn section back to the dance stage. Band members include founder and arranger Mark Burhans (trombone), Emily Singer (lead vocals), Jeremy Schaffer (piano), Chris Pyle (electric bass), Bill Rawlins (drums), David Sanders (guitar and vocals), Maarten Uijt De Haag (Baritone, Alto saxophone), Stacia Carr (backup vocals) and Brandon Jaeger (trumpet, vocals). Emeritus members and sometimes guest artists include Kay Carter (trumpet), Kyle Selmer (sax), Ted Harris (sax), Tim Myers (drums), Tom Daniels (bass and trombone), and Tom Erlewine (bass). Adjunct members include Cricket Jones (adjunct WildHoneyBabe in charge of fun,dance and photography) and John Thorndike (videographer).
